Head PGA Professional - David Snodgrass
David took over as Head PGA Professional at Crail in October 2020 becoming only the 2nd Head Professional in the Society's history. He has been at the club since 2012 when he joined as an Assistant Professional. During his time at the club, David has enjoyed seeing two Open Championships taking place close by in St Andrews. The 150th edition of the Open Championship in 2022 was extra special and was one of the busiest but most fun weeks he has had at the club yet..
David has wonderful memories of welcoming famous golfers to play at Crail including Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, John Daly and Jean Van De Velde to name a few.
He still plays golf on a fairly regular basis compared to a lot of "club pros" and he always enjoys his annual visit to play his favourite course, Millport Golf Club on the Isle of Cumbrae. When he's not at the club or on the golf course David can be often found playing tennis at his local club in Lundin Links.
One of David's main motivations at the club is to provide the members and visitors with the best possible experience and service in the Pro Shop followed by a great day out on the links. He is a keen coach who takes particular pride in the thriving Junior Academy that takes place on Tuesday evenings during the better weather.
David's proudest achievements in golf are being awarded PGA Advanced Professional status in 2019 and becoming Head Professional at Crail Golfing Society, the 7th Oldest Golf Club in the world.
